Cheri is an owner/agent of SC Crop Insurance, that brings valuable experience to her customers. Cheri Lange grew up on a diversified farm that included dairy, hogs, and grain production. After attaining a BS degree in Agribusiness from Southeast Missouri State University, she worked for Monsanto Company in research & development followed by five years in ag retail as the office manager at Bockhorn Ag, Inc. In 2007, she began her career as a crop insurance agent working alongside partners Eric Brammeier & Joe Luechtefeld. Cheri’s favorite part about being a crop insurance agent is helping farmers find a personalized, cost-effective, risk management strategy to protect their investment.
Eric is an owner/agent of SC Crop and began his crop insurance career in 1999. Eric and wife Kim were married and began operating the family dairy and grain farm in 1986. Eric, Kim and their two sons continue to operate the 450-acre operation. Eric is active in the community serving multiple terms on the local school board, fire district board, church council and is serving his third term on the county board. He is also a member of the Lion’s Club and is proud to be a Senator of the local, state, and international JC organization. Eric’s experience in the crop insurance industry as well as knowledge of government farm programs bring value to SC Crop customers in managing the inherent risk of ag business.
Joe Luechtefeld
Chris graduated from Quincy University in 2006 and worked in sales as well as assisting in operations and management on the family farm. He became a crop insurance agent in 2013 and in the spring of 2014 began working as an agent with SC Crop. He is also a co-owner of Wagon Lake Farms Inc. and Chris and his wife, Lacy, and 2 children reside in St. Libory, IL.
Brad serves as our crop insurance agent in the south-central Illinois. Brad joined SC Crop Insurance in 2017 bringing 8 years of crop insurance agent experience. Brad grew up on a farm north of Effingham and is actively involved in the farming operation of corn, beans and wheat with his father and brother. He currently resides in Teutopolis with his wife Lucy and their four children. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science of Marketing from Eastern Illinois University and enjoys farming, sports, outdoor activities and spending time with his family.
Amber grew up on a grain farm outside Okawville, IL. She graduated from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Business. Amber completed a six-month internship with Pioneer then joined Farm Credit Illinois as an Administrative Assistant for Crop Insurance. She has been a part of the SC Crop Insurance team since it began in 2014 as an Administrative Assistant. Amber currently resides in Okawville, IL with her husband Mike and their 2 children, Harper and Kenley.
Nancy grew up on a grain farm near Mascoutah, IL. After receiving her associate’s degree in Accounting, Nancy began working in the crop insurance industry in 2002 before joining the SC Crop Insurance team in 2015. She currently resides in Fairview Heights, IL with her husband, Mack and their two children.
Shanna has been part of the SC Crop Insurance team since the spring of 2018 as a Processor and brings over 20 years of experience in the crop insurance industry. Prior to working at SC Crop Insurance, Shanna was an Underwriter for both Great American and Rain and Hail LLC. Shanna currently resides in Morton, IL with her husband Brian and their three boys. Her time away from the office is filled with many activities that her children are involved in, reading, and watching and cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Wendy started in July as our newest member of the SC Crop Insurance team. She will be working with Cheri out of the Red Bud office. Wendy recently retired from the USDA-Farm Service Agency with 41 years of experience. In May of 1982 she started work as a Program Technician in Monroe County, IL. Then was served as the County Executive Director (CED)in Monroe County including a short time as Acting CED in St. Clair County IL. She finished her career as the Illinois State Conservation/Compliance Specialist in Springfield. She grew up and currently resides with her husband, Lee, on her family’s grain farm near Maeystown, IL..
